30th June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 2 Plutella xylostella and 1 Silver Y.
29th June A pair of Red-veined Darters that were seen coupled and egg-laying were on the Obs pond in the late morning, but again there was no sign of them there later in the afternoon.

28th June At least 4 male Red-veined Darters visited the Obs pond for a couple of hours around midday, but there was no sign of them there later in the afternoon.
26th June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 2 Silver Y.
25th June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 1 Udea ferrugalis, 1 Plutella xylostella and 1 Nomophila noctuella.

24th June At least 3 male Red-veined Darters were seen at a private site on the island this afternoon. Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 1 Nomophila noctuella.
22nd June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 3 Plutella xylostella.
21st June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 2 Udea ferrugalis, 1 White-point and 1 Silver Y.
20th June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 4 Udea ferrugalis, 2 Plutella xylostella, 1 Silver Y and 1 Small Mottled Willow.
19th June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 2 Plutella xylostella and 1 White-point.
18th June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 2 Nomophila noctuella, 2 Udea ferrugalis, 2 Silver Y, 1 Plutella xylostella and 1 Bordered Straw..
17th June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 21 Plutella xylostella, 2 Udea ferrugalis, 1 Dark Sword Grass, 1 Silver Y and 1 Nomophila noctuella; also a single Dark Spectacle.
16th June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 1 Plutella xylostella and 1 Nomophila noctuella.
15th June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 2 Plutella xylostella and 1 Pearly Underwing.

10th June The Grey Squirrel continues to be seen in gardens at the Grove.
9th June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 6 Plutella xylostella and 2 Silver Y.
8th June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 5 Nomophila noctuella, 2 Plutella xylostella and 1 Silver Y.

6th June The Grey Squirrel was still present in gardens at the Grove.
5th June The Grey Squirrel was seen again at the Grove this evening. Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 14 Plutella xylostella, 4 Silver Y, 4 Nomophila noctuella, 1 Small Mottled Willow and 1 White-point.
4th June A Grey Squirrel was seen in gardens at the Grove today (thought to be only the second record for the 'Tophill' part of the island). Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 10 Plutella xylostella, 2 Silver Y, 3 Nomophila noctuella, 2 White-point, 1 Pearly Underwing, 1 Small Mottled Willow and 1 Udea ferrugalis.

3rd June Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 10 Plutella xylostella, 4 Silver Y, 3 White-point, 2 Nomophila noctuella, 1 Pearly Underwing, 1 Gem and 1 Udea ferrugalis; also a single Ethmia bipunctella (the fourth Portland record), 4 Eudonia pallida and a Straw Dot.

2nd June A single spike of Common Spotted Orchid - the first record for Portland - was found today in an area of rough pasture at the Bill that also contained up to 1000 spikes of Bee Orchid. A lone Grey Squirrel was a very unusual sighting at Ferrybridge this morning. Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 1 White-point, 1 Nomophila noctuella and 1 Silver Y.
1st June Clouded Yellows continue to be seen daily, with at least 5 around the Bill area and 7 around Church Ope Cove today. Immigrant moths in the Obs garden traps this morning: 1 White-point, 1 Udea ferrugalis and 1 Silver Y.
